The inaugural Credentialed Leaders Weekend - Ann Arbor, Michigan - October 2-4, 2009
The American Balint Society is offering it's first continuing education opportunity for credentialed leaders. The workshop is scheduled for Friday October 2nd through Sunday October 4th of this year. The location is Ann Arbor Michigan (which is beautiful in the fall). Ann Arbor is within easy drive of Detroit which is an airline hub. The format will provide an opportunity to do Balint work where the focus of the presentation will be leader/group issues. We will also have an opportunity to discuss innovations as well as endeavoring to define elements of Balint that are core to the work.

Goals for the Weekend
- Use the Balint method to identify and work through issues that arise when leading Balint groups.
• Become aware of the concept of parameters:
- What are the fundamentals of Balint work which are immutable?
- What are the features of Balint work which can vary according to circumstances or are open to innovation?

Saturday morning
8:30-10:00 – Balint Groups (2)
10:15-11:00 – Debrief in Balint Groups
11:00-12:30 – Large group. Define parameters and redistribute into discussion groups
Lunch – 12:30-2:00
Saturday afternoon
2:00-4:00 - Balint Groups (2)
Saturday evening – Dinner in Ann Arbor
Sunday morning
8:30-10:00 – Balint Group (1) and closing in small group
10:15-11:30 – Large group and redistribute to discussion groups
