The American Balint Society and the Credentialing Coordinating Committee offers it's second continuing education opportunity for credentialed leaders. The workshop is scheduled for Friday, August 27nd through Sunday, August 29th, 2010. The location is Ann Arbor, Michigan on the campus of the University of Michigan. Ann Arbor is within easy drive of Detroit which is an airline hub. The format will provide an opportunity to do Balint work where the focus of the presentation will be leader/group issues. We will also have an opportunity to discuss innovations as well as endeavoring to define elements of Balint that are core to the work.

Goals for the Weekend
  • Use the Balint method to identify and work through issues that arise when leading Balint groups.
  • Explore the parameters of Balint work:
    • What are the fundamentals which are immutable?
    • What are the features which can vary according to circumstances or are open to innovation?
  • Discuss support of and work with non-credentialed co-leaders.
